Want to be part of the action at Rec Room?
Volunteer ushers are an essential part of creating the intimate, welcoming experience our audiences love.
As a volunteer, you’ll help us greet guests, guide them to their seats, and keep the evening running smoothly.
All while getting to see the show for free.

What to Expect

Ushers arrive one hour before the performance and check in with our Front of House Manager, who will give you a brief tour of the space. You’ll see the main stage, lobby, and restrooms, and learn how the evening will flow.

Before the show begins, you’ll help welcome guests into the theatre, stand by the entrance, and answer any questions. Once the house opens, you’ll assist patrons with seating and then take your designated seat to enjoy the performance.

During intermission, ushers help monitor restrooms and keep traffic moving. After the show, your shift is complete. Easy, simple, and a great way to experience the energy of live theatre up close.

CURRENT SHOW Run Times

We are currently seeking volunteer ushers for both parts of ANGELS IN AMERICA.

• Millennium Approaches — approximately 3 hours with two 15-minute intermissions

• Perestroika — approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes with two 15-minute intermissions
  Drinks are allowed inside the theatre.
