Afterglow Collective is proud to bring you Henrik Ibsen's iconic Hedda Gabler, stripped of its original time and locale, boldly re-imagined by Camron Alexander, Melanie Ernestina and Sophia Watt. No longer set in 1890's Norway, audiences will step foot into Hedda Gabler and George Tesman's modern New York City townhome to watch on as their explosive 24 hours home from honeymoon unfold. After a wedding covered by Vogue and an upbringing full of spreads in Vanity Fair alongside her now deceased father General Gabler, Hedda faces a new chapter. During a two-month honeymoon abroad with her young academic husband, she has become acutely aware of her hopes, fears, and image-based day-to-day reality.... She can no longer push away a growing sense of entrapment in her existence. Struggling to find power and freedom, Hedda navigates the slippery slope of in search of liberation, grasping for control of her life.
